WHAT IS THERMAL AGEING — AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?
You may be familiar with UV ageing — the damage caused by sun exposure that has driven SPF into every morning routine. Thermal ageing is its lesser-known counterpart, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
When skin is repeatedly exposed to sudden temperature shifts — the cold of air conditioning, the heat of outdoors, the dry pressurised air of an aircraft cabin — it enters a state of chronic stress. Excess sweat production disrupts the skin's acid mantle. The barrier weakens. Sebum regulation fails. Over time, this repeated disruption contributes to the same visible signs we associate with accelerated ageing: enlarged pores, loss of firmness, compromised radiance.
Heat is no longer simply a comfort issue. It is a skin longevity issue.
